Family Service Agency has sponsored an adoption program for over fifty years and offers an array of services to both the birth parents and to the adoptive families. Women who wish to consult with someone about their pregnancy are offered free counseling without obligation. Should the birth mother decide that it would be best to parent her baby, she can be assisted in planning for her baby's arrival and care. An adoption counselor will assist in identifying free or low-cost plans for medical care, and to estimate expenses to plan for housing, employment and childcare. Additional community services will also be identified to assist the new parents. Birth parents can take as much time as they need to make their final decision for themselves and their baby. Women who decide to place their baby for adoption will be able to participate as much or as little as they want in selecting an adoptive family. They may meet the adoptive family if desirable and can be provided periodic photos and progress updates as agreed upon. Family Service Agency is licensed by the Arizona Department of Economic Security as a Child Welfare Agency for the provision of pregnancy counseling and adoption services.
